El Questro (Gibb River Road) 30th May - 1st June

Easy drive down from Wyndham back into El Questro. This is a privately owned Wilderness Park  on the Gibb River Road in the Kimberley, and the road is now sealed most of the way into ELQ.

On the way to our camp site we stopped in at Emma Gorge. This was a 2 hour walk up the Gorge to 2 beautiful swimming holes. There was even a photography group there taking pictures of a European model.

Drove out to Branco Lookout for another sunset... we missed the sunset (I forgot to allow for the 4WD river crossing) however the view was sensational. We even saw some crocs swimming down the river.

The next day was a big one...

  • Zebedee Springs (we were the first ones there at 7am)
  • Amalia Gorge
  • Pentecost Crossing (500mm deep)
  • Lookout
  • Home Valley Station
  • El Questro Gorge
