We then called into Carnarvon for lunch and a HUGE grocery shop.
Everybody was talking about a severe weather warning which was heading our way, and that the road to Exmouth had been cut off for the last 3 days.
Our next stop was Coral Bay so we decided to keep driving as long as we could and have an overnight stop at Lynton River, approx 60 km's short of Coral Bay. This camp ground had the biggest bugs we had ever seen, so the lights were turned off early to avoid the invasion.
Arrived in Coral Bay at 8.00am and were able to have breakfast on the beach and go for a walk before we checked in. Had a great snorkel in the Bay and around the corner at the 5 knot marker.
The storm arrived as predicted and we almost got blown away. The area had 80 mm's of rain and left huge puddles all around the camp site. Georgie rode her bike for a morning wiss and got bogged on the way!
Later in the day we went to feed the fish with a local artist, and then tried to find "Merv" the 70 year old Blue Groper which lives near the boat ramp just south of Coral Bay.
